Milner Dentistry - COVID 19 updates

*updated on May 12, 2020

Update #6:

We're back!! As of May 11th, the Illinois Department of Public Health recommends that oral health providers resume provision of routine oral and dental care consistent with the "Interim Guidance: Routine Oral and Dental Care" published on May 8, 2020.

This week, we are slowly ramping things back up and providing urgent care to those who have delayed treatment since mid-March. We will slowly bring back our hygiene department starting May 14th. One of our team members will be reaching out to each and everyone of you who have had their appointments postponed since March 16th. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this pandemic and we cannot wait to see you in the office.

We want to let you know that your health and safety is our number one priority and that we have implemented a few additional measures on top of our daily universal precautions set forth by the CDC, OHSA and ADA:

  1. We have a hand sanitizing station near our front desk for your use and we will take your temperature as well as complete a questionnaire upon your arrival.
  2. We will have you rinse with 1.5-2% hydrogen peroxide prior to your cleaning or dental treatment.
  3. We have True Hepa Air filters/purifiers in each dental operatory as well as the waiting room.
  4. All clinical team members will be draped in the appropriate PPE per IDPH, CDC and ADA guidelines.
  5. Additional suction devices will be used during your cleaning or treatment to limit the amount of aerosols produced.
  6. We will be regularly disinfecting all common area surfaces (i.e. door knobs, counter-tops, waiting room chairs, etc..) and have removed toys, magazines and touchables from our waiting room.

We ask that you practice safe social distancing when arriving in our office and we have spread out the waiting room chairs to help ensure non-family members stay 6ft apart. Please do your best coming to your appointment alone but if you must travel with someone, please have them wait in the car during your appointment. We understand parents and legal guardians will need to be present for appointments.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about your future visit and are excited to welcome you all back!

Sincerely,

-Dr. Ty and The Team at Milner Dentistry

Update #5:

As you are all aware, Governor Pritzker has announced an additional 30 days of shelter-in-place. We have been patiently waiting on what this means for the dental offices in the State of Illinois as "elective procedures" will be allowed starting May 11. For now, we will be postponing hygiene (cleaning) appointments but we will be keeping 'urgent' treatment appointments on the schedule starting May 11. Please read below.

To ourhygiene (cleaning) patientson our May schedule: please consider your appointment postponed until further notice. We are now 8+ weeks into being shutdown and it will be difficult navigating the new normal once we are allowed to fully re-open. Once we know more, someone will be contacting you to reschedule to a later date.If you have ANY concerns, please call us or email us with your concerns so we can follow up.

To ourtreatment patientson our May Schedule: Starting May 11th, we will keep your treatment on our schedule unless you hear from us. If you are in need of a root canal, large filling, or crown, we will be able to see you. Please be responsive once we reach out as we may need to change the time of day you are seen so we can maintain social distancing in our waiting areas. We look forward to getting you all back to health.

Update #4:

As you are all aware, Governor Pritzker has announced an additional 30 days of shelter-in-place. We have been patiently waiting on what this means for the dental offices in the State of Illinois as "elective procedures" will be allowed starting May 11. Unfortunately, there has not been clear guidance on how we can proceed for the month of May. We are hoping to know more in the coming days/weeks. For now, we will continue to see urgent/emergency patients only.

To our hygiene (cleaning) patients on our May schedule: please consider your appointment postponed until further notice. We are now 7+ weeks into being shutdown and it will be difficult navigating the new normal once we are allowed to fully re-open. Once we know more, someone will be contacting you to reschedule to a later date. If you have ANY concerns, please call us or email us with your concerns so we can follow up.

To our treatment patients on our May Schedule: We will be going through your treatment needs and determining what may be urgent. Consider your May appointment postponed until further notice. We are concerned that some of the treatment we have planned 2-3 months ago are progressing, whether you are symptomatic or not. We are trying to come up with a plan to see those urgent cases in the coming weeks.. If you have a root canal, large crown or filling that was planned months ago, that is considered urgent and will need to be treated as soon as possible. If you are having any discomfort in any capacity, please call us or email us with your concerns so we can follow up as soon as possible.

Update #3:

The newest recommendations set forth by the ADA, ISDS and Governor Pritzker in the past couple of days have pushed back our 'business-as-usual' to at-leastMay 1, 2020. For the time being, we will be available for Dental Emergencies only until April 30th, 2020. We will continue to update the website as new information is available.

If you have an appointment that is scheduled during that time, please consider it cancelled and disregard any emails/calls/texts you receive confirming that appointment. Once we are able to start seeing patients again, we will be temporarily extending our hours to accommodatethe rescheduling of our patients. A staff member will be calling you to reschedule your appointment soon.

Thank you all for your understanding!

-Dr. Ty
